Project 1
Ways of Thinking - Composing Architecture (Geometry & Form)
Design Process
Firstly, I was assigned to design models by using symmetry as an ordering principle and one of the primary elements such as point, line, and plane for each model. Apart from that, I need to design a hybrid model that consists of at least two primary elements by using the same ordering principle.
Point Model

For this point model, I was inspired by the fish's body because I noticed its symmetry. Furthermore, the body of a fish forms points when viewed from specific angles. That is why I use it as a reference when designing my point model.
Line Model

When creating a line model, I begin by incorporating rotations and varying the size of the shape in a rhythmic manner. While maintaining the principle of symmetry, the viewer can also perceive the motion in this design.
Plane Model

I chose to use the intersection of planes in order to create the plane model. Changing the size of the plane vertically alters the shadow's depth when light is projected onto it.
Hybrid Model

I begin my design of the hybrid model with organic shapes. Furthermore, this design draws inspiration from flowers, with planes symbolizing petals and lines symbolizing stems.

Self-Reflection
Overall, through this project, I gained a comprehensive understanding of the definition of each ordering principle and primary element in architecture. The complexity of the project made it challenging to tackle on my own, so I often reached out to friends and lecturers for assistance. Their insights and perspectives were invaluable, as they provided different viewpoints and ideas that enriched my understanding and approach. With their help, I was able to navigate the project's difficulties and complete it more efficiently and effectively. This collaborative experience not only enhanced my knowledge but also underscored the importance of teamwork and seeking guidance when needed.
