Building Modelling and Documentation
Design Process
For this project, I am required to develop a detailed Revit model based on a selected architectural design, incorporating key components such as walls, roofs, floors, stairs, curtain walls, doors and windows. The model will accurately represent the spatial and structural aspects of the design and will form the basis for producing a complete set of architectural documentation. This will include sheets with titleblocks, sections, elevations, room tags and schedules for doors, windows and rooms. The aim is to simulate a professional architectural workflow—from 3D modelling to technical documentation—ensuring clarity, precision, and effective communication of the design.

Self-Reflection
Throughout Project 1, I gained a wealth of knowledge about Revit modelling and architectural documentation, including the application of various Revit tools and components such as walls, floors, roofs, stairs, curtain walls, doors, and windows. I also developed a deeper understanding of how these components interact within a digital model to represent real-world construction processes. Through extensive online research and collaborative study sessions with my teammates, I was able to explore the technical aspects of Revit and enhance my skills in creating accurate and detailed architectural models. This hands-on experience not only improved my proficiency with the software but also strengthened my ability to analyse, coordinate, and present architectural designs effectively.
The combination of face-to-face learning and the integration of digital platforms such as MyTimes and Microsoft Teams greatly enhanced my ability to understand complex modelling tasks and complete the project efficiently. This hybrid learning environment allowed for flexibility and a more interactive approach to problem-solving. Working with my peers made the process both collaborative and enjoyable, reinforcing the value of teamwork in architectural practice.

His insightful feedback, clear instruction, and continuous encouragement played a vital role in helping us navigate challenges and maintain our momentum.
